The Woman newspaper has appointed Ahdeya Al Sayed as its Editor-in-Chief. The publication is issued in English and enjoys an international readership.

In a press statement released today, the Media Office of the Arab Women Authority announced that the appointment of Ahdeya Al Sayed marks the first time an Arab woman has assumed the position of Editor-in-Chief of a global English-language newspaper directed at the international community. The newspaper focuses on issues and concerns affecting women around the world and provides professional media content supported by modern digital technologies.

The statement added that the historic The Woman newspaper, which was founded in the United States in 1958, was recently acquired by the Arab Women Authority. The newspaper is intended to serve as a pluralistic media platform with an Arab perspective reaching the wider world, promoting the shared human and cultural values that unite women globally.
It is worth noting that Ahdeya Al Sayed is a prominent Arab media figure who previously served as President of the Bahrain Journalists Association and has held numerous media and executive positions. She holds a master’s degree from the United Kingdom.

The statement concluded that the presence of Ahdeya Al Sayed and a specialized editorial team at the newspaper’s headquarters in Geneva will firmly position The Woman on the map of international media and journalism, close to the capital of global diplomacy. The newspaper will operate with complete independence and impartiality.
